This, along with The Tale of The Fierce Bad Rabbit, was intended for very young children. It recounts the tale of a pussy cat, Miss Moppet, chasing a mouse. It turns out to be a bit of a battle of wits, and who do you think will win? The Story of Miss Moppet is number 21 in Beatrix Potter's series of 23 little books, the titles of which are as follows: 1 The Tale of Peter Rabbit 2 The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin 3 The Tailor of Gloucester 4 The Tale of Benjamin Bunny 5 The Tale of Two Bad Mice 6 The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle 7 The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher 8 The Tale of Tom Kitten 9 The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck 10 The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies 11 The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse 12 The Tale of Timmy Tiptoes 13 The Tale of Johnny Town-Mouse 14 The Tale of Mr. Tod 15 The Tale of Pigling Bland 16 The Tale of Samuel Whiskers 17 The Tale of The Pie and the Patty-Pan 18 The Tale of Ginger and Pickles 19 The Tale of Little Pig Robinson 20 The Story of a Fierce Bad Rabbit 21 The Story of Miss Moppet 22 Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes 23 Cecily Parsley's Nursery Rhymes
I have a number of these Beatrix Potter stories and I love them all. This is one is particularly good for very young children. My 13 mo old can wait for the sentence or two on each page, then help turn the page and get through it without too much impatience. Cute story, too, of course.

THE STORY OF MISS MOPPET is the cute story of a cat name Miss Moppet who's been played by a mouse. Their antics could only remind you to the famous cartoon series Tom and Jerry. It's a very short story, equip with beautiful water-color illustrations for your enjoyment and to help nurture the children's imagination. Cute plot and good for a quick read.

In this little tale we meet Miss Moppet, a cat who thinks she hears a mouse. The chase is on as the mouse declares that he is not afraid of a kitten. Nice illustrations in this book, the kitten and the mouse are very life-like and the story is very cute. A nice read to share with the little ones. Shirley Johnson

Miss Moppet is certainly one of the cutest of all the Beatrix Potter books. I love the illustrations and recommend this book to any Beatrix Potter fan. Miss Moppet would also appeal to most cat lovers out there. As always, it includes a useful moral to the story.
The Story of Miss Moppet

"The Story of Miss Moppet" is very cute. It revolves around Tom Kitten's sister, Moppet, and a Mouse. The Mouse teases Miss Moppet behind a cupboard and when she jumps she just misses him and ends up bumping her head on the hard surface. She ties her aching head up in a duster, while the Mouse comes out to make sure she is alright and then... This tale has an amusing end and makes a good bedtime story for toddlers. They will especially like the illustrations of the adorable kitten and the last picture of the quick-minded Mouse.
