A seriously neglected topic

The book takes a trenchant look at a seriously neglected topic - the question of who actually governs the US. Since this question impacts directly on all other matters facing the US, it is a topic that should be of prime concern; that it gets so little attention is a real worry. The book reflects the need for a vital American left to provide a genuine criticism and coherent opposition to non-democratic developments in the US. Perhaps unavoidably the book is little patchy. This reflects the fact that it is an edited collection, but also underlines the problem of reasearch in this area - so much real governance activity is done in secret and therefore not open to sustained research and analysis. I hope the authors are working on an updated version.
