A sequel to GOD WANTS YOU HOLY, this book includes a chapter on the Sources of the Struggle--world, flesh and the Devil. Temptation can be successfully resisted; Spiritual Warfare means putting on the armor in preparation (Ephesians); Apostasy is defined as a failure to go forward to spiritual maturity rather than to fall back; Perseverance is a chapter that emphasizes the apostles' teaching on persistence rather than presumption based on "once saved, always saved." False Profession discusses the difference between natural faith that everyone has and the gift of faith that produces genuine salvation. A chapter on Assurance gives the nine marks (I John) of how one can know that s/he is presently saved and sure of Heaven. The chapter on Endurance uses the analogy of a race to show that one must run for the finish line. Finally, the chapter on the Sovereignty of God contends that a Christian is spiritually mature when s/he bows the acknowledges that God foreordains everything, good and bad (This is a "hard saying"). A footnote to Pastors explains that the parable of the Sower given by Jesus was to encourage preachers not to lose heart when people do not respond to their ministry. This series of studies can change a believe's life. No exaggeration.
