Book Overview

The Supernova Model is a client service, client acquisition, and practice management model that drives an explosive acceleration in revenue and client satisfaction by capitalizing upon the 80/20 Rule. First implemented by financial advisors at Merrill Lynch--under the leadership of author Rob Knapp--it has grown increasingly popular within the financial services industry. The Supernova Advisor skillfully outlines this proven model and reveals how it can be used to create an exceptional experience for your clients, while significantly growing your business.

Contact is Not Discipline - It's Ritual

When Rob Knapp writes about contact not being a discipline, but a ritual, with reference made to Jim Loehr, he is from my perspective, discussing the most useful tool one can deploy in taking oneself to a higher level of performance. Given the foregoing, in my view, this is a must read book, for anyone focused, competitive and driven.

Spend Time on What Matters Most

The Supernova Advisor is like a set of architectural plans for building a professional practice. It's an excellent book for financial advisors and all client service businesses. We are reminded that clients become loyal when we develop relationships and trust. Rob Knapp's Supernova process provides a model for consistent contact and more meaningful conversations. The Supernova Advisor will help you create client contact rituals where you spend your time on what matters most.

The SUPERNOVA Advisor

Rob Knapp through his Supernova process made the most significant change in how Advisors conduct their business at Merrill Lynch that I have seen in my 26 years. What a gift he has provided to the rest of the financial services industry by sharing the Supernova process that he created. For those that read and implement the concepts that he shares in his book it will have a very postive impact on their business. The book was very well written and at times entertaining, I read it in 2 hours and couldn't put it down. Any Financial Services professional interested in taking their career and business practice to the next level should read this book.

Start The New Year Off Right - Make The Supernova Advisor Your 1st Read of 2008!

This is a must-read for anyone who considers himself/herself an entrepreneur. From the perspective of someone completely outside of the financial services industry, I didn't think this book would apply to my field of expertise. Oh, how misguided I was! One constant in a successful business IS change. Therefore, change is not only good for your business, it's key to your survival - whatever business you may be in. The Supernova Advisor can help guide you through whatever change(s) may be in store for your corporation, company, partnership, or shop. I feel as if I've started the New Year off right already. And I'm confident that my success in 2008 will be a direct result of my crossing the Invisible Bridge.

Only read this if you want be challenged to change and grow

This book is a concise summary of an implementable process that will help any business, especially in the financial industry, identify key clients, focus more effectively on what matters to them, and service them to the point that you replicate these top clients/customers and grow your business in a way that makes both your and your clients' lives better. Your key customers benefit from receiving a higher level of service and you benefit as you focus more effort on fewer relationships with those you most enjoy and who benefit your business the most. Our team was fortunate enough to learn this process while Rob worked at our firm and since adopting this approach our key clients have become much more satisfied, our team enjoys work, and our business has grown, counter-intuitively by working with less people. By reading the book and revisiting the concepts we have gained momentum in setting goals for next year. I recommend reading this book and taking to heart its concepts if you want to be challenged and grow.
