A modern day version of King Midas' Touch. When the gumball machine delivers a ring instead of bubble gum, Peggy can't hide her disappointment. After turning the ring round and round on her finger, a genie appears and grants her one wish fo rthe "sweet touch."
This was my favorite book growing up, and I look forward to reading it to my future kids someday. The illustrations are beautiful, and the story is really cute.

Who doesn't love sweets? This book is timeless and just as enjoyable today as it was when I first read it over 20 years ago. It's one book I don't mind reading 3 or 4 times in a row. The illustrations are adorable.
Timeless.

What child wouldn't enjoy a story about having the ability to turn everything in sight into a candy-licious treat? In my opinion, this is a book that will never be "dated".
Warm fuzzy!!! A Must Read!

When I was little my mother would take me to the library and read this book to me... it is the sweetest book in the entire world!! I don't know what really drew me to it, but it has always stayed in my mind as my most favorite book. The story line is one that is a direct metaphore to that of Midas... a child is given the magic touch (she is able to turn anything into candy) by an apprentice wish giver. Things run amok and one finds out that too much of a good thing can be bad. It is sooo cute! The story is great, and the illustrations are wonderful! Those young and young at heart will love this book.
