Trueblood writes on page twenty-five, "Probably the worst mistake a minister can make in his reading is to limit himself to strictly contemporary productions. Old books now available have survived the sifting process of human experience. The vast majority of books published today are worthless. The wonderful effect of immersing one's mind in really great writers, rather than trashy ones, is that something of their character wears off in the reader." I am a better person for reading Teacher by Elton Trueblood.
