I have raised three teens before this one, but this book has some interesting approaches to use, etc. that are very helpful. Teens now need different things than they used too due to the pressure of the world. Donna

My son (now 27) is one of the teens that Mike Linderman "whispered" in his early years at Spring Creek in Montana (but not one of the kids in the book). Although I'm done raising kids, I just had to buy the book as soon as I discovered it (through an excerpt in a magazine.) I haven't finished the book yet, but I can say that Mike is as amazing in real life as what you read in the book. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has kids or knows someone who has kids. It's not really a "how to" book, nor is it a "tell-all" from a behavior-mod boarding school. It's just Mike, sharing his down-to-earth wisdom on living with and raising confident, honest, hard-working, healthy kids. The title might seem a little silly, but it does convey Mike's innate understanding of kids, both in general and as individuals.

This book is a must for any parent or grandparent who has a pre teen or teenager. The book is well written and the author has real life situations of teenagers he has helped. Buy the book it is well worth its price.
