Those Thingumajigs are at it again They slurp their soup and rock their chairs. They never say Thank you and they never say Please. They are a hilarious study in bad manners, but while children are... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I had this book as a child in the early 80's and it's so funny to see other people saying they can't get this little creatures out of their heads too!! They're creepy and gross and funny, things every kid loves! When my 5 year old nephew came to live with me this is the book I thought of first to teach him good manners, after I found his "booger collection". My dad used to read this book to my sister and I over and over again, and when I asked my mom for the copy to read to my newphew she said it was about to fall apart from reading it so much! So I got him his own copy. The ugly Thingumajigs will stick out in any childs mind, it's a funny story with a memorable message and I am sure your kids will grow up and remember it as well as we do!

I was first introduced to these colorful personalities in 1982...and have not been able to get them out of my head since! Now that I have started a family of my own...these books are a must have for any chlidrens library. The story makes adults giggle while the illustraions keep your childs attention; while getting the point across! Saddly over the years my original copies have been lost, I am so relieved to still be able to get them!
Great book for preschool age children

I have read this book to my preschool classes for several years and they love it. It's always a good way to correct gross behavior such as nose picking without embarassing the child. We always just say, "You're acting like a Thingumajig."
Best book on Manners for Children.

This is the best book of Manners every written for children. My boys loved this book when they were young. My sister was looking for a copy for her girls and we have not been able to find one. The illustrations in the book were wonderful. One such antic of the Thingumajig that we used to love was "Thingumajigs eat their dinner in their underware" but good little boys and girls don't. I would recommend this book to any mother trying to instill a good set of values and manners into young children and you would have fun teaching them also.
