A new edition of "the Tibetan equivalent of The Divine Comedy," a contemporary classic as powerful and accessible as the Dalai Lama's bestsellers. An acclaimed spiritual masterpiece, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying is a manual for life and death and a magnificent source of sacred inspiration from the heart of the Tibetan tradition. Sogyal Rinpoche delivers a lucid and inspiring introduction to the practice of meditation, to the nature of mind, to karma and rebirth, to compassionate love and care for the dying, and to the trials and rewards of the spiritual path. This treasure of Tibetan wisdom is the definitive new Budhist guide for our times, and has sold over a million copies worldwide. "As a guide to the Tibetan tradition and its insights into life and death, Sogyal Rinpoche is without peer." -New York Times Book Review
This is a great guide to understanding compassion, and learning to use it to better everyone's life experience. The author relates his journey to attainment, his friends, and the times he has lived through. For me, the information on the process of dying, how to truly help someone and yourself through the Bardo experiences one may be aware of during the process of dying. As a worker in the health industry this book opened a whole bunch of new meaningful understanding.

I'm sure this is a decent book, but I just couldn't get through it. Very wordy.
