The fable of a man who "brought goodness & wisdom wherever he went." When the Brahmin is confronted with a caged tiger, he opts to free the animal. As the animal is about to pounce, the two negotiate a deal that turns out to the tiger's advantage. As the Brahmin laments his fate as the animal's dinner, he meets a jackal. Though the jackal seems to be stupid, he tricks the tiger into reentering the cage, thus saving the good Brahmin's life. In the end, the Brahmin is wiser for having learned the ways of the world
