Eighteen chilling short stories--by Tanya Huff, P. N. Elrod, Lois Tilton, and other notable authors--journey into the dark world of the vampire, revealing the exploits of these creatures of darkness throughout history, from ancient Greece to the present day. Original.
This collection of vampire tales was, on the whole, quite good but had a couple of duds. It seemed that after the first 100 pages the stories got much better. I particularly liked "Voice From The Void", "Death Mask" and "Faith Like Wine". These were great stories. "The Ghost Of St. Marks" didn't interest me much. It was confusing - what was the relationship between Father Brian Stuart and David? It seemed like the author was trying to hint that they were gay, but you were left wondering what was the true relationship between them? I don't know; I just didn't get that one. Overall, a good collection of stories.
Creepy, funny, and fun.

Ok, I'm new to reading Vampire stuff, but this was my first. I did the unthinkable and at first judged this book by it's cover. Woops. Thinking it was going to be whiny goth crap (no offense), it turned out to be stories throughout time, starting in Rome and Greece if I remember correctly. However, the stories do not really relate to each other, the book is just set up chronologically by story setting. This was a great idea, and gave the impression of a sub-culture that has existed throughout human history. This also acted as credibility of why there's so much written about vampires, as if these stories were true. Most pieces are set up with the vampires being the protagonist, some are creepy, some funny, all fun. Great stuff, I really enjoyed this one, I hope you will too.
So far so good

I have only read about half of it so far, but the stories are original takes on vamps. I especially enjoyed "Scent of Blood" by Booth. Her style is extremely engaging.
