I grew up spending a lot of time in a woods next to our house on a farm in the Midwest. I fell in love with trees which was just the beginning of a long adventure discovering their meaning to my personal life. As I grew and developed into a man, I could relate to the stages of a trees growth and all the elements of life that challenge it. I faced those difficulties in life and suffered many scars not unlike the scars you may find on many trees. I became amazed later in life to realize I could hold up as well as a tree in the face of all the trials I experienced. That relationship has developed into this deep love and respect I now have more than ever which is why I wrote this book. I bare the scars, have dead limbs and broken branches; but I survived and became resilient It is an amazing adventure into the world we live in that is full of suffering as well as much joy, color, and fruitfulness.
