In a game, action often appears random, pace frenetic and key variables unpredictable. Players attempt to collectively succeed under these conditions and coaches try to assist them. Since the game's inception, the attempt of effective and efficient self-organization, combined with the evolutionary process of offensive strategy and design has been its story... and its greatest challenge.
Coaches may plan the install, provide instruction and calculate needed adjustments but in the end, players need to make the offense theirs. They must challenge themselves to grow within it, personalize it and master it.
Players need to own the offense.
