This is an amazing book in terms of layout and design. Each tyrant is given 2-4 pages of info with a quote and photo or drawing. I've read 3 of the ~50 synopsises in the book of the tyrants that litter history. I would not say the aim of the book is to educate you on the finer points of Wu Zetian's reign, you will find out what he did and how in about 8 minutes. Example: The paragraph describing the leadup/execution of the Iraq war of 2003 is one paragraph. Well written and easy to digest for anyone interested in a paper version of Wiki-length exposition.
