Harry Turtledove does an interesting twist on American history. This is the second book of a trilogy and can be read as a stand alone but is much more interesting when read in order.
Excellent Plot and Story

Once again, Turtledove amazes me with a wonderfully crafted tale of alternate history that I sorta wish was true! As an aspiring writer, I have found a few authors to aspire to be as good as and Turtldove is one of them!!! A truly enjoyable tale I Recommend Veryt Highly!

Like almost all of Turtledoves novels this is well written and thought out. The series so far is an interesting alternate history of the early colonization and exploration of North America by the European powers. With the twist that the St. Laurence - Great lakes seaway and the Mississippi River system are joined and form an arm of the Atlantic, ocean leaving the area around the Allegheny mtns. to form Atlantis.
