For fans of James Rollins and Matthew Reilly comes a heart-stopping, globe-spanning adventure in Andy McDermott's explosive series featuring American archaeologist Nina Wilde and ex-SAS bodyguard... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I have read all of the series up to this book, working on Kingdom of Darkness now, and found the Valhalla Prophecy to be the one I have enjoyed the most. I like the flow of present and past and I like the characters as presented. The back and forth between Eddie and Nina is "better" as in I think it is appropriately used like a husband and wife rather than in some earlier work to me it felt forced and inappropriate. Eddie is the protective husband rather than the bully or the less intelligent of the pair. The story is very interesting and I like to be entertained so I don't try to make sense or reality out of these things. Of course the heroes can do superhuman things and survive the usual plane crashes, car wrecks, bullets, and so on. So that is no spoiler to say the action if of course non stop right from the beginning. I say grab the book, get your beach chair out, slap on some SP50, and have a very good read.
