5 Stars, The simpler life
THE WALNUT CREEK WISH
by Wanda E. Brunstetter
Jeff and Rhonda have decided to leave the city and move into the laid-back atmosphere of Walnut Creek, Ohio. Of course, it will take a little maneuvering of their schedules since Jeff owes his own restaurant and Rhonda is a hotel manager. Jeff is interested in antiques and spies a charming antique shop in town, called Memory Keepers. He stops in one day, to browse and meets the owners of the shop, a couple named Orley and Lois Troyer.
Orley likes the fellow Jeff, he thinks he will be a good addition to their small community. Even though Orley and his wife are of the Amish faith, he likes to talk to everyone who comes into his shop, because he feels like he can help them with their problems by talking about them.
This is a unique Amish novel since its main focus is on an Englischer couple, rather than the Amish community of the small Ohio town. It is enjoyable and I find that I will enjoy reading it time and again, in the future.
