Bestselling author Nicole Jordan weaves a breathtakingly sensuous story of love and passion between the valiant Ariane of Claredon and the fierce knight who loses his heart to her. . . . For five... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I loved this story. It captured my heart and attention from the start. For those who gave this book a low rating, you are judging the story on our 21th Century values. This is a Medieval romance, and based on the culture of that time period woman were property with no rights and subject to the will of powerful men.
My favorite Nicole Jordan book

Ranulf, the warrior, claims ownership of Claredon, Ariane's home as her father has been accused of treason. Ranulf has many scars, outward and surely inward and does not trust noblewomen. Although he was supposed to marry Ariane as she was pledged to him early on, he refuses to wed her as he feels he can justly break the betrothal agreement as she's the daughter of the traitor. He 'strips' her title of lady and calls her wench and/or leman. (That part I didn't like) Nevertheless, they try to deny the passion they feel for each other. His continuous mistrust of her is exasperating but it does fit well with the storyline. I truly enjoyed it and it does have one of the best endings I have ever read in a book. If you enjoy reading about much passion with very descriptive details, look no further.
