"The best domestic suspense novel since Gone Girl." --In Touch Weekly When you read this book, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen's The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love. Read between the lies.
The book drags on and on there is no suspense it is mostly just dialog. Boring characters Others seem to like it. Not me
You think you know what you’re reading but you will be so unprepared for each and every twist!

The first twist kept me up at night. I could not believe it. Just amazing written overall. And as soon as you think you know where it’s going, BAM, another twist! Irresistibly good.

It started way too slow for me. It felt like there were a lot of unnecessary details "fluffing" if you will. Great plot twist and ending though.

Read Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris instead

The writing was good, but I felt like the story fell short. The first twist at the end of part one was good, but after that the book was a bit of a let-down. They amped you up for a great story or great twist and it was kind of like nothing happened. It seemed like the authors couldn't agree or decide how to end it, so they tried to tie things up with a neat little bow. It didn't work well and was pretty anti-climactic. The epilogue made it even worse. I wasn't riveted; I could easily put it down, and those are not qualities you want in a book dubbed a thriller.
If you're looking for something similar and way better, read Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris. Or one of Ruth Ware's books.
Couldn't Put It Down

I absolutely loved this book. I couldn't put it down. I read it in two days... that's the quickest I've read a book in years.
I feel like I can't share much about it because it'll give too much away. But I do highly recommend this book if you're interested in something entertaining, fast-paced, and with many twists and turns! Give it a try! So goo!

I didn't care for this. It was confusing to read and keep up with all the back ans fourth with the characters. It did have some good twist in it.
This wouldn't be at the top of my listof recommendations.
It’s a good book

Painfully long
Published by Kim , 3 years ago
Wow, where to begin?? This book is painfully long. Lots and lots of repeating of events and the entire first part was unnecessary and a complete waste.
The entire book, there is talk about how awful this man is but it takes until page 320 to actually get into it. Also, the main character talks several times about an event that happened years ago. Because if this event, she is paranoid about her safety. Again, all of this is mentioned several agonizing times but the actual event that caused her to be this way is not revealed until way later and it’s not even that bad. That little back story was completely pointless and added nothing to the story other than pages.
The way the characters are all intertwined is pretty unrealistic as well.
Literally so amazing!

This is the first of 3 incredible books by the female writing duo of Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. I will do my best to avoid spoilers. This book really sucked me in and made me an instant fan of these two. I read it for the first time in January of 2019. The summary states that you will assume many things and goes on to say you should assume nothing. I have never read a summary blurb so accurate. I assumed I knew what was happening. I assumed it was over. I was very wrong. Without giving anything away, there are multiple twists up until the very last page. Right when you think it's going in one direction, it completely changes course and leaves you with a severe case of literary whiplash. I loved every minute.

This actually threw me a little bit, and I liked it! Took it on a plane ride and walked around connecting airports still reading. Sent a copy to my sister to read. If you like this, I recommend Then She Was Gone, The Guest List, and All The Missing Girls.

This is not a romance novel
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 6 years ago
The title sounds like this could be a romance novel. If you, like me, dislike romance novels or even romantic thrillers, I promise, THE WIFE BETWEEN US is neither.
Although this book does describe a love triangle, it doesn't exactly. It seems the ex-wife is stalking and terrorizing the girlfriend, but then it doesn't.
No one in this book is as they first seem. It will feel like you are constantly having to revise your understanding of people and events. As a matter of fact, halfway through the book you may want to stop and reread everything you have read so far. I did.
And it won't seem that you are reading a romance novel.
Because most book reviewers, in my opinion, say too much, I am careful not to do the same.
Exciting

WOW! This one captivated me. Assume nothing is such an understatement. Honestly, when flipping page to page just don’t assume AT ALL. Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen will lead you down a completely different path than you could ever expect.
Initially, I felt there was a slow start as the backstory of the characters were laid out. Although I did note that Hendricks & Pekkanen portrayed that something ominous was going to happen, I did not see the twists that came. Especially that which came once I veered Part II of this novel. I had to close the book and soak in all that I just read. Evaluate the bomb that Hendricks & Pekkanen just dropped on me. My whole perspective on the start of this novel immediately changed. It was not a slow start but a well written and suspenseful lead up to a twist I never saw coming.
I apologize for the bare bones review, but to elaborate on its plot, its characters, and so forth will only ruin your reading experience of this intelligently written psychological twister. It is so difficult to discuss this book without revealing surprisingly juicy spoilers, so I shall refrain. What I can tell you is get this book, read this book. The hype that surrounds it is with reason!
Twisty Page Turner

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an ARC of The Wife Between Us. I have read most of Pekkenan's other books and didn't even realize she was a coauthor of this book until I finished.
In a book that has many twists and turns, I found myself fully immersed. Vanessa's ex husband Richard is getting remarried. We see Vanessa as she goes through dealing with this and still getting over her horrible marriage to Richard.
What we don't know while we are reading it is why the marriage ended. We slowly are let into the secrets of Vanessa and Richard's marriage.
I won't say too much more because of the possibility of spoiling something. But I highly recommend for people who like page turners and book that keep you guessing!
Felt a little like Deja Vu

I was able to read this early via NetGalley.
It was just a mediocre read for me. I was interested in it to begin with because Sarah Pekkanen was a co-author. The book is broken out into 3 parts. upon reading the first part, it felt like the end. Then, broke out into 2 more parts that become so criss-crossed between flashbacks and character flashbacks, that I just wanted it to be over.
From the beginning it felt as if the story line and the way it was written was very similar to that of Liane Moriarty. (Whom I happen to love.) Had I not read almost all of her books, then this one may have been rated higher. But I just couldn't get past feeling like I was re-reading the same story with different character names in a different city.
I read it in under 48 hours, so if you are looking for something quick, this fits the bill. It's worth a read if you love chick-lit suspense. I would recommend it overall, just not as a priority read.
