A lot of such books were written but none equals Sharon's imagery and depictions that put you right in between the created worlds.

If only we could get the Jalav series published in paperback-sized hardcover like books are printed in England. I've bought this series over and over again, and keep wearing them out. While there's lots of sex 'n bondage issues for those who like erotica, this story was much more than sex. It contains theories of self-evaluation, morality, criticality of ideas from a "feminine" vs. a "masculine" or "savage" viewpoint in the lead character. Very educational and edifying.
