Assembled with skill and sensitivity by social activist Homer A. Jack, this selection of brief and incisive quotations range from religion and theology, personal and social ethics, service, and international and political affairs, to the family, education, culture, Indian problems, and Gandhi's most original concept, satyagraha -- group nonviolent direct action.
Very nice broad introduction to Gandhi's vision and wisdom
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 15 years ago
I found this book to be very well done, simple. Selections of quotations from Gandhi-ji on a wide variety of topics, well chosen, easy to read, inspirational, very useful. A short read, but a powerful one. Gandhi-ji was a rich source of wisdom, a true light among humankind. This book takes his pure word, outside of historical context, and let's the reader feel the depth of humanity (and spirituality) that was and is Gandhi-ji. And wisdom and wit, yes indeed, Gandhi-ji had a way with words. Greatly enjoyed. Greatly inspired by. Well done to the publisher and editor.
Helped with my oral presentation

I had to do a college oral presentation on Gandhi, so the book really helped me out a lot.
