Albert Marrin's books are all top-notch! "The Yanks Are Coming" is no exception. Marrin begins by explaining how the U.S. became involved in the first world war and how it affected life in America. Did you know that sauerkraut became "liberty cabbage"?(Kind of like "freedom fries" today.) He includes first hand accounts of battle and life in the trenches. We get to meet Sgt. York and the Red Baron. Mr. Marrin presents "just the facts" about WWI without injecting much of his opinion. Highly recommended!
