Sweet story.

It helps to teach kids about taking care of animals, but also that some animals don't make great pets.
theodore struggles with responsibility

In this story Theodore the Tugboat rescues a young whale. At first he doesn't like being responsible for the little cetacean, but soon finds himself upset when its pod is found and the youngster's going to leave.This is a gentle lesson with a beloved cast of characters, though I'd say it's the weakest of the three Theodore books we have read. If you already have other books in the series, this is a fine addition; if you are choosing an introduction to the characters, Theodore's Whistle is a better book.

Theodore Tugboat is one of the best kid story lines that is on the market today! My two year old has the whole set of Theodore tugboat books and we just love all of them, especially this one! My little boy laughs everytime he sees the whale squirting water at the tugboats! The whole idea behind Theodore is wonderful and imaginative! The stories are easy to follow and fun to read for both children and adults! The stories include life lessons and how the tugboats deal with the situation and their feelings. In this story, Theodore finds a lost whale and has to deal with "whale sitting" until the whale is reunited with its family. Theodore learns to say goodbye in this book while making a new friend. It is a great book with a good moral in the end! The story is easy to read alound and the illustrations are vivid and crisp! Plus the whole gang of tugboats are included in the story, which is a plus considering we love to see all the tugboats. I strongly reccommend the whole series of the Theodore Tugboat books to kids of all ages!
