Book Overview

They Never Die Quietly tells the story of homicide Detective Sami Rizzo, who is assigned to head a task force investigating serial killings in San Diego. Simon, the highly intelligent, cunning, and deceptively charming villain, redefines the depths of human evil. He believes God has given him absolute authority to purify his unholy victims through a ritual that ends in a grisly crucifixion. Driven by warped religious beliefs and guided by his dead mother, very much alive in his subconscious, Simon abducts "chosen ones" and holds them captive in a Room of Redemption. There, the victims helplessly await their crucifixion. Detective Rizzo urgently yearns to solve the case and gain the respect of her male colleagues, but her obsession to apprehend the killer on her own clouds her thinking. When Simon outsmarts Rizzo and captures her, determined to make her his next victim, she must employ all her resources--both physical and intellectual--to outwit the villain at his own game.

Not what I expected, but better

I bought this book thinking it was really going to give me a good scare. Well, I guess I've seen too many Datelines and 20/20's because finding out that a serial killer usually looks and acts like the rest of us just doesn't scare me like it used to. What I didn't expect and what I found as I got into the book is that is was a great detective story. The main detective who is trying to solve the crime, Sami, is very likable...

Chilling and utterly believable killer--will have you double checking your locks!

I was so excited for this book to arrive that I stayed up last night finishing it. The characters are first rate, explained well, and (for the most part) stay consistent. The book moves along at a pretty good clip--not stopping for you to catch up but its so well written you won't be left behind. From the first couple of words written you will be hooked (line and sinker) and you'll feel compelled to keep going to discover...

Wow, this author is going to go places

Skip spinning class, this book will get your heart racing faster. Don't start reading this book on a Monday or you will be late for work, the author had me at page one. The writing was so real that I felt like I was in the story. And I love the large print.

Unbelievable

Move over Dean Koontz, Robert Ludlum and Steven King; there is a new author in town named D. Annechino!!! His new book, "They Never Die Quietly", was recommended to me by a friend. I bought is a couple of weeks ago and let it sit on my desk for a few days before I started to read it. All I can say is amazing!! Once I began to read it my day was shot as I could not put it down!!! I finished it in one day. Since the book mentions...

Intense!!!

They Never Die Quietly My wife is an avid reader, and I occasionally pick up a novel and wade through it. No wading required here. My wife and I both agree, intense is a solid description of this tome. Mr. Annechino has definitely stirred the pot well, creating a suspenseful, interest holding story that you won't want to put down till the very end. If you happen to be of Catholic upbringing, there are definite situations that...
