Best guide for cooks (and non-cooks) everywhere!

This is such a fantastic book. I keep buying copies for wedding presents, even though it is currently out of print. The suggestions are helpful, and presented with so much fun! Meryl Nelson obviously knows how to "ad-lib" in the kitchen! It's great the way it's set up, too. This book is alphabetized by "When you're out of..." with everything from abalone...to milk...to time...to yeast! Helpful extra sections on microwave hints; equivalency charts (not just 2 cups=1 pint, but "Marshmallows, large, 1 pound=64 marshmallows" Now THAT's thorough, not to mention helpful); and also a final section with general info bonus hints. If you don't have a newly married couple to bless with this heaven-sent book, at least buy one for your own kitchen!
