This Year's Garden follows the seasons of the year as reflected in the growth, life, and death of the garden of a large rural family. The annual gardening cycle is celebrated in a lovingly illustrated, full-color panorama of fertile scenes that you won't want to miss.
If you are a gardener, you'll love this book. Since I am not, I enjoyed it but probably not to the extent of my gardening friends. The pictures are wonderful and spritely and the story moves along at a rather brisk pace. It goes through all four seasons, showing how the garden (and the chores) change throughout the year. I think this is a great book to begin a discussion of seasonal shifting, as well as a jumping off point for starting a garden with kids. A fun read... and the dogs in the book ROCK!
