To think outside the box

love this book. We are taught as quilters to free motion quilt and practice practice Practice. This book goes way beyond and frees you to use your imagination to create movement and light in your quilting. It doesn't always have to be about the piecing. Turn simple blocks into incredible art. You can color outside the lines!

Unlike a prior reviewer, I don't find this a 'one idea' book. Having done machine embroidery for more than 20 years, 'way before these new embroidery machines, I look for books like these for ideas and new techniques. I don't purchase them for how-to particularly. This is a beautiful book and one I'm delighted to have on my shelf.

This is a great book for the beginner as well as the experienced free form embroidery hobbiest. The instructions are clear and the photos are inspiring. If you try just one of the simple designs, you will want to make another and another.

Libby has shown me through her book of Threadplay, that quilting can be so much more than what quilting used to be. I love her choice of colors and patterns.I truely admire her work and would highly recomend this book.
