This book is the second by this author. The first follows her time as a child in the American foster care system. This book follows her journey as a foster, adoptive and biological mother. She see some heartbreaking things. If you are interested please read these stories. She is an excellent author and her stories are outstanding. I highly recommend!

I’m in school to become a social worker so I’ve sought after books like this to see different perspectives, I’m very glad I bought this book. Ashley’s story is absolutely heartbreaking and in many parts left me feeling empty but as I keep reading I saw how strong this girl is even when she shouldn’t have had to be that strong by herself. This is a book that is so hard to put down because you want to see her come out on top at the end, I was yearning for it since I started it. This is a real eye opener and I would reccomend it to anyone and everyone. This was wrote beautifully (even as heartbreaking as it is).
