My kids got this Almanac "from Santa" this Christmas but it lived on my nightstand for several nights while I flipped through it. Loaded w. pics, tons of information in bite-sized paragraphs just perfect for sprinkling "book" knowledge with real life current events. My 4th grader will be researching & preparing a presentation on China next month. She'll be able to provide the standard broad overview abt China's demographics & geography found through online resources PLUS the current news on China found in this book & some facts that put China's global status in perspective (why what happens in China matters all the way over here in America). Love it. Plan to keep buying this Almanac every year as it updates. It's a great scholarly & family resource.

It's a tradition! Every year, I buy this almanac for my grandsons and we pour over all of the fascinating things going on in the world. Easy to read and comprehend, this is a fine read for all ages. I especially recommend it for immigrants and ESL learners.
Awesom book, fun for everyone

We had an older version of this, and while I was ordering homeschool supplies for this school year I decided to get an updated version. These books are so fun to read. We keep it in the car so the child waiting for a sibling can look at it, or they like to read fun facts to me while I'm driving. My husband and I also like to look at it and read interesting tidbits to each other. The pages are very colorful and it's a nice size to hold--not too big, but not small either. Even my 4 year old likes to flip through the pages and see all the neat pictures. This would be a great coffee table book to inpsire lots of conversations about current topics/people/events. You won't be sorry about this purchase!
