The only book you'll ever need to read on skin care. This book dispels common skin care myths and misunderstandings. It deflates the 'puff' surrounding skin care product marketing and debunks skin... This description may be from another edition of this product.

I found this book helpful and straightforward. It was an easy read and I was able to implement many of her tips without spending extra money. And so far what I have tried has worked. There are no miracles, few absolutes, and almost no product bashing. Just simple ways to take care of your skin without hype. Ms. Ash also dispels some common myths about skin care and discusses topics such as sun exposure, basic skin care steps, and problem skin. This is a good start to learning more about keeping your skin in good health.
extremely useful book

As a health care practitioner, I appreciate having found a skin care book which I can recommend to my clients. The book is well written and pleasant reading, and Ms. Ash takes a wholistic and intelligent approach to skin care which clearly outlines the needs of our skin and how to properly maintain it. She also addresses attitudes and approaches toward aging gracefully and how to avoid some of the current trends in skin care which work against healthy skin in the long run. This book does not endorse any particular line of skin care product but sticks to straightforward facts about our body and its needs. It does, however, help the reader avoid the many very expensive skin care products on the market which are, in fact, less that healthy for ones skin. My clients who have read and begun using the information contained in this book (as well as myself), have had very good results with their skin, and we have been fortunate in finding products to meet our needs. Thank you.Sharon Kraus, L.Ac.

At last a book that gives a no nonsense path to skincare. This book describes skin problems and how to solve them. One of the more important chapters will eventually affect everyone- OLD AGE! I like Carolyn's approach to this subject. Skincare is more than just creams and lotions and this book encompasses the whole you.

Not only have I read Carolyn's book from cover to cover, but I have been a loyal client of hers for eight years. Her knowledge and philosophy of treatment is special in the age of "high-tech" skincare hype. She believes in consistency and a basic 3-step cleansing process. Carolyn knows about the skin as an organ and believes in treating not just ones problem, but helps to determine the cause. Ash's book is direct, highly informative, and covers any question or concern you could possibly have with your skin- she's seen it all!
