I found this book neither pretentious nor academic. It was a thoroughly engaging and enjoyable read. Tuten is an excellent writer.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. Frederic Tuten is an artistic genius. The book is sensual, intellectual, philosophical, and very very funny. The prose is beautiful. The story is full of surprises that never let up. This is a masterpiece waiting to be discovered. Thank you, Frederick Tuten for such a wonderful gift drawn from your heart, mind, and soul.
Beautiful book

This is only nominally a book about Tintin. Actually it's a wonderfully written allegory about the transformative power of love (hence the phrase "the new world").If you just want to read about Tintin the comic book character, pick up one of the comic books.
A great book: Literature, not the typical Tintin adventure

Tintin is the starting point. If you want a Herge cartoon, don't buy it. If you want a cosmic adventure/romance, it's wonderful. Huge recommendation.
