Tony Blair: Faith, Politics, and Legacy
Sir Anthony Charles Lynton Blair KG (born May 6, 1953) is a prominent British politician who served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1997 to 2007. A member of the Labour Party, Blair was its leader from 1994 to 2007, and is recognized as the longest-serving Labour Prime Minister and the first and only person to lead the party to three consecutive general election victories.
Blair was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and was educated at Fettes College, an independent school, before studying law at St John's College, Oxford. He qualified as a barrister and soon became involved in the Labour Party. In 1983, Blair was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sedgefield, a constituency in County Durham, beginning a parliamentary career that would span nearly 25 years.
