Praise for Pearl Wolf's Too Hot For A Spy "As delicious as Jane Austen at her very best "--Rosemary Rogers, New York Times bestselling author "Readers who enjoy Celeste Bradley have a treat in store with Wolf's daring debut."--"Romantic Times" "A spirited character-driven tale with a lively, strong heroine and a reformed rake. Who could ask for more?" -Hannah Howell
In 1818 engaged Lady Helena Fairchild feels like a fool after she makes a scandalous error when she inadvertently ended up in the bed of the king of rakes Desmond Bannington. Her engagement ends immediately and to abate the scandal the Marquis escorts the banished woman to rusticate at a friend's estate. Desmond is known for his French brothel residence, but upon inheriting the title believes he needs to amend his immoral behavior and to act with the decorum of a Marquis. However, he is attracted to Helena, who besides being beautiful is bodacious. Unable to resist her lure, he starts a seduction; unaware that someone willing to kill lurks in the background waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting duet. The second Fairchild Regency romance (see Too Hot for a Spy) is an engaging historical mostly due to the antics of the lead couple. Desmond, banned by his father a dozen years ago, now inherits the title with plans to behave accordingly, but that brazened beauty keeps him thinking with his lower head. Their inane activity makes for a fun tale although the suspense subplot feels forced into the story line. Harriet Klausner

To speed up the finding of a wedding date, Lady Helena Fairchild sneaks in the bed of her fiancée, too late she realizes that it isn't her betrothed but a notorious rake. To make the situation even worse, her fiancée discovers Helena in bed with Lord Desmond Bannington, whose name she doesn't know at that moment. Her family sends her away till the scandal is forgotten, but she is shocked to discover that her escort is the same man who ruined her future. Desmond spent his life living up to his reputation, but now that he is the Marquis of Waverley, he wants to change is life and he can't forget Helena. But will she be able to reform this die-hard rake? TOO HOT FOR A RAKE is the second book of Ms. Wolf's Fairchild sibling series. Although it is the second book it can be read as a stand-alone, but I can promise you that you will want to pick up a copy of Too Hot For A Spy. As strong as Ms. Wolf started with her debut novel Too Hot For A Spy she continues with TOO HOT FOR A RAKE. She confirms her status of a fast rising star in the world of Regency romance. Her readers are swept back to the time of the Regency period. It's interesting to see if the saying "Reformed rakes makes the best husbands" is true for Desmond or not. The story is so much fun to read. I read the book in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. I can hardly wait to see whose story will be next up. Four more siblings left. TOO HOT FOR A RAKE is another great Regency romance that I can highly recommend to all fans of Regency romances!
