This book explains how hammers, pliers, saws, screwdrivers, wrenches, and many other household tools work. Also included are exciting tools used by professionals at building sites, and an invitation... This description may be from another edition of this product.
there are too few books out there for tool-crazy toddlers, and this is by far the best i've seen. the illustrations are very realistic and beautifully drawn and much space is devoted to trying to show how some tools are used. its also pretty durable. from an adult standpoint, it could be a bit more coherent, but my twin 2-year-old boys think its just great. recommended.
A great tool book for a child
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
My 3 year old son (a fervent lover of tools!) adores this book. While it is written for young children, it doesn't "talk down" to them. The pictures are very realistic and include basic descriptions of how various tools are used. Every couple of pages a clear plastic page with pictures overlayed add interest to the book as you read. For example, you open the book to see a man using an electric drill to drill a hole in a wooden door. You have a partial view on what is behind the door. Then you flip the overlay and see the bit coming through the door and the contents of the closet. This adds an interesting dimension to reading and helps to engage your child's interest.
