This book is very useful for anyone who is a history major or is thinking of majoring in history. The first section outlines some general, but important information. It talks about writing an effective resume. It also discusses different steps to take to become successful depending on what stage in education you are in (high school, college, or graduate school). There are interviews with different people who are already working in fields related to history which are useful. The second section, which is much larger than the first, describes 35 different careers that a history degree can be of use in. The careers range from corporate jobs, government jobs, teaching, and museum jobs. The book describes many different aspects of the career, such as expected salaries, how fast that segment of the job-market is growing, what level of education and other skills are needed for the job, etc. Overall, this book is a great resource for people looking to use their history degrees to make a living.
