Danielle Steel explores the perils of dating, relationships, and love in a novel that takes us into the intoxicating, infuriating world of three charming single men, also known as... Toxic Bachelors They were the best of friends and the most daunting of bachelors....Charlie Harrington, a handsome philanthropist, has such high expectations for his perfect bride that no mortal need apply....Adam Weiss, a forty-something celebrity lawyer, prefers his women very young, very voluptuous, and very short-term....And for Gray Hawk, a gifted artist with a knack for attracting troubled relationships, women are fine; it's just the idea of family he can't imagine (particularly the family of the woman he's dating). Now the three friends, spending their annual summer vacation cruising the Mediterranean aboard Charlie's majestic yacht, are about to have their bachelorhood rocked. By autumn all three will fall precipitously into relationships they never saw coming. Charlie begins dating a crusading social worker who couldn't be further from his ideal-until he makes a stunning discovery about her. Adam gets involved with his usual twenty-something bombshell-only this one has a remarkable mind of her own. And Gray, who has avoided both business and family like the plague, has managed to fall head over heels for a successful career woman- who just happens to be a mother as well. As another holiday on the yacht approaches, and with it a turning point in each man's life, the three bachelors are forced to face the things that scare them most: their phobias about relationships, the wounds of the past-and the kind of women who challenge their deepest terrors. What happens next will spark big changes for Charlie, Adam, and Gray-and might just put an end to their carousing days forever. For as the once-carefree trio is about to discover, love is the most unpredictable adventure of all. Filled with all the joy, complexity, and unexpected surprises of life, Toxic Bachelors is Danielle Steel at her poignant and penetrating best.
Finally, a book written from the men's perspective. This was soo much fun to read during my last vacation to Waikiki! I adored it.

An overlooked Steel gem: Lots of twists and fun

The title of the book initially threw me. But it looked interesting. Three men gather on a huge pleasure boat for one month each summer to enjoy each others' company. Two have never been married and one's wife divorced him. They share everything. On their travels in the islands two meet nice women. One of the guys goes out with a lady and they become good friends. The divorced guy encounters a sexy young gal who seems to barely be above 18. His temperature rises. The third, a rich man in his early 40s would like to find Ms. Perfect but isn't looking. He has lots of action too without getting involved. But then at work back in NYC he meets a special lady who identifies herself as a poor young girl that worked her way into becoming the director of a home for battered children and women. The encounters of each with their lady are described in delightful detail. The oldest is afraid of marriage, especially if the woman has any children, regardless of age. The divorce expects the young lovely hot lady to tell him everything. She hesitates at one point and he takes a hike. The third is attracted to the social agency director. But, in her attempts to appear a normal lady, she lies about her background and financial status. On learning the truth, he blows her off. But who is perfect, besides him? Their antics and escapades are delightful to read. One has paranoia on learning his lady has older children who are coming to visit. He breaks off the relationship, being scared to death about meeting/being with children even in their adult age. His lady friend obviously stands by her children but shows some understanding. I thoroughly enjoy this book. Steel discusses romantic episodes in a tasteful manner, using some vivid words but also being gentle. The only problem I had was an inability to stop reading it. But, the book is easy reading and lots of fun. For me ***** is the only option. GREAT! Dr. K.

I have read almost every thing Ms Steel has written in the last 25 years or so. This book was well thought out and written. It shows that some men can overcome their phobias in the arms of a good woman.
