The author of the tremendously successful Jean Howard's Hollywood now takes us on two whirlwind Grand Tours she made during 1955 and 1956 with her longtime friend Cole Porter. Throughout, the sights, parties, and the illustrious circle in which they traveled, is recreated with Howard's warm and funny remembrances and through portions of Porter's own travel diaries. 300 photographs.
This is so much more than pictures of the two trips that Jean Howard took with Cole Porter and Howard Sturges after Linda Porter's death. Jean became friends with Linda and Cole Porter in 1931. The book provides background information into their long friendship as well as clearing up a few misconceptions about Cole Poter. Jean includes letters from the Linda and Cole Porter to her starting in 1938 and ending in 1964. People that have picked up the book in my house always comment on the beautiful pictures of their travels. Light reading, but a well written book.
