Inspirational and enjoyable

I met the author and his wife at an event in a local bookstore. They were so warm and pleasant, with such great personalities, that I knew I wanted to read Travels with Doris. I wasn't disappointed. The book is very easy to read, entertaining, and motivational. Before I was even half-way through I was inspired to do a little traveling of my own. But I'm not quite as adventurous as Frank and Doris, so I will have reservations!

I loved reading this book! It contains warm and funny tales of two people obviously meant for each other. I found myself transported along with them - experiencing things through their eyes. Frank King had me hooked from the first story to the last one (my favorite is "Doris Gets Deported"). His writing style is easy to read and very, very entertaining. It reminded me a bit of Eric Hansen's books and stories (like Motoring with Muhammad). I ended up sending copies to several people who love traveling. Overall it was one of the better travelogues I've read.
