I saw this in our school library when we were closing it up for the summer last year, and this year, I finally remembered I wanted to read it so I checked it out.
For me, the story didn’t really get going until about half way in or maybe 35-40% when there was lots of action. There’s a lot you can tell is fiction and could never happen in real life (by any means), but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I love books about pirates, ships/boats, treasure. Maybe it’s more of a Pirate fantasy and I’m okay with that. I love a lot of James Patterson’s adult crime books so I’m glad I gave this one a chance being as it’s written for kids.

Love, love, love these books. My husband reads these aloud to my five kids and myself. Disclaimer he does fun voices but all my kids enjoy these books from 2 to 10. The pictures on the inside are so fun! The story keeps going! Which is great because there are a ton of books in this series.
