A beautiful story of a boy who grows up under difficult times

I bought this book for my students (I teach middle school) and I started to read it and could not put it down. It's such a simple story of a Latino boy coping with difficult circumstances but beautifully writen. I was really moved and found myself teary eyed reading the boy's trials and tribulations. The book really captures the emotions of a teenager dealing with the angst of growing up as well as discovering his own heritage. Highly recommended.
