Encontros (Meetings) is the largest and most prestigious book collection of interviews with Brazilian artists and thinkers. With more than 50 published titles, Encontros provides a broad panorama of Brazil's cultural and intellectual wealth. Tropic?lia was undoubtedly the most influential cultural movement in Brazil in the second half of the 20th century. In a brief period of time, the critical and irreverent spirit of young creators in different artistic areas - music, theater, cinema, and plastic arts, among others - gave rise to a series of debates and works that mark Brazilian cultural production to this day. By bringing together interviews and documents produced between 1966 and 1970, this special volume of the Encounters collection allows us to get to know its history and ideas through the voices of its protagonists.
Interviews and statements by Caetano Veloso, Capinam, Gilberto Gil, Glauber Rocha, H?lio Oiticica, Jomard Muniz de Brito, Jos? Agrippino de Paula, Mutantes, Nelson Motta, Rog?rio Duarte, Rog?rio Duprat, Rog?rio Sganzerla, Tom Z?, Torquato Neto, and Z? Celso Martinez Corr?a.
