This book is an absolute essential guide for any teacher working with young children who really wants to understand how to plan for developmentally appropriate experiences that encourage in depth analysis, critical thinking and problem solving. Finally, an easy to read guide with gorgeous pictures that demonstrate how authentic, child-initiated industry and play is the goal for our classrooms. This author is NOT some out of touch, Ph.D who has not worked with young children in YEARS. Here is someone who knows what young children today need, and is able to make recommendations that are practical, as she draws from her own classroom teaching experience. Bev Bos is truly an early childhood education icon. All of her books should be required reading for early childhood educators.
