Great book for beginning turtle owners

This book is one of three written by Reptiles Magazine editor Russ Case. All three are extremely easy to read, full of useful information and a great introduction to the care & keeping of reptiles. My teenage son has read all three and the only problem now is choosing what pet to start with! I can highly recommend all three.

Don't let the fact that this book is designed for kids fool you. If you just want to get some beginning knowledge about these creatures, you'll get it quickly by reading this. It's also just fun to read with lots great photos. It's part of a trio of books by this author that I bought for my friend's 9-year-old. The others are about lizards and snakes. I bought this book for my 10 year old grandson who had just acquired a pet turtle while on a family camping trip. After reading the book we realized the turtle should be returned to his natural habitat and we did just that. Now my grandson is using the book for research on how to properly obtain and care for one of these creatures. The author's authority on his subject and his reader-friendly style made this a valuable and enjoyable experience for a young pet lover.
