A counting book centering about a bear family in which the Papa, Mama and Baby Bear make three and then the relatives are named one by one, while the twenty-second bear is the child's own teddy bear. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Twenty Two Bears is filled with grand alliteration. It was fun to read as rapidly as one could, with the children chiming in at the end of a rapid delineation of the various bears, "but twenty two bears - that is a lot of bears!". They would also correct us if we became tongue tied during the reading. It was a grand read for us, and for helping the children to learn to read. The book spoke to a grand party for the bears, but ended telling the child that it was really a party for his special bear (teddy bear). I was sorry when it went out of print.
