Two Brothers

OH my God ... This Book Is Beyond Good! It's GREAT !! I highly recommend this very powerful story of two brothers, who are Twins...and share everything...But the same Blood !! This is a very powerful story of a young couple who know they are having twins...and rush to the hospital for their birth..in the freezing darkness of the start of dawn, Frieda and Wolf...are so excited they can hardly wait...for the joyous birth. This is set in Berlin during the 1920's... prewar.. pre crazy Hitler, but still a country in deep struggle trying to get back on its feet economically after the first world war. Freida delivers her babies..but sadly the other twin baby boy, did not survive. As she is holding them both, saying her last goodbye to the baby that did not make it, a Doctor has come to tell her, that a young girl of 18 has just given birth to a baby boy, who's father has run off before he was born, the girl has died, and the grandparents want nothing to do with the baby, as they are shamed by the daughter's actions, and are poor farmer's that can barely keep themselves alive. Would Frieda be willing to take the baby as her own, to replace the one that passed, or it would become a ward of the state. Frieda, who barely has time to take this all in, is given the baby into her arms, as they take the deceased one away, she looks at him and knows in a instant..she will keep him and love him as if she gave Birth to him...and she will go home with her twin boys! From here you will be drawn into the story of their young lives, the years of growing, the mother and fathers stuggles of raising to rambunctious little boys in a small apartment, going to work, and just raising a family in a happy, loving home. As the story goes on..your brought into the years, (1930's) when Hitler is elected Chancellor, and everything starts to take a turn... for the worst...as Wolf and Freida and the boys are Jewish, and Hitler is blaming the Jewish population for the fall of Germany ! This story is so Captivating, and beautiful, and heartbreaking...it brings you into all their lives, of different people along the way that are a very significant part of them and the story. It will tug at your heart, as you personally connect with each and every character. It goes between periods of during the war, and after the war, and the outcome of all the characters. I have Never read anything by this Author, but I truly have Nothing but Praise for this wonderful story. If I could give it 10 stars..I would...it is so deserving of it. IT captures you and holds on to you from the very beginning to the very last page !!
