Although this book was copyrighted in 1996, every issue Ms. Washington discusses is relevant today. I want to tell her thank you so much for saying the things I have discussed with my friends. She gives insight to how slavery, media, and politics shape the communication or lack there of between black men and women. We really have to begin to look to one another to heal and support if we want amends for the many years society tried to separate us from one another.
