Norah has agoraphobia and OCD. When groceries are left on the porch, she can't step out to get them. Struggling to snag the bags with a stick, she meets Luke. He's sweet and funny, and he just caught her fishing for groceries. Because of course he did. Norah can't leave the house, but can she let someone in? As their friendship grows deeper, Norah realizes Luke deserves a normal girl. One who can lie on the front lawn and look up at the stars. One who isn't so screwed up. Readers themselves will fall in love with Norah in this poignant, humorous, and deeply engaging portrait of a teen struggling to find the strength to face her demons.
Amazing disability and mental health representation
Published by Hayli , 1 year ago
I did a buddy read with a friend for this book a few years back, and this book was so, so good. It focuses on the main character’s disabilities and mental illnesses in a way that’s not degrading. The main character meets a boy who wants to meet her, but she has difficulty leaving her home. The author does an amazing job portraying her disabilities without using the “love cures all” trope.
Not exactly what I expected
Published by HaylenHollers , 4 years ago
It wasn't awful, I don't hate it. It handles the issues that it deals with realistically, I just expected... more. It was a very quick, easy read. A few things (not spoiling) I feel like we're just added for emotional affect rather than to move the story forward. Maybe I'll like it more doing a reread.
