The California Practice Standards and Jurisprudence Examination for Pharmacists (CPJE) is a computer-based exam that is administered by the California State Board of Pharmacy. It is a requirement for pharmacists who want to become licensed to practice in the state of California. The CPJE is designed to assess a pharmacist's knowledge of California pharmacy law and practice standards, as well as their ability to apply that knowledge to real-world situations. The exam consists of 90 multiple-choice questions, which are divided into three sections: Pharmacist Practice - This section focuses on the laws and regulations that govern the practice of pharmacy in California, as well as ethical considerations and patient care. Drug Therapy - This section assesses a pharmacist's knowledge of drug therapy, including drug interactions, dosages, and routes of administration. Pharmacist-Patient Relationship - This section examines a pharmacist's ability to communicate effectively with patients, as well as their knowledge of drug information resources and their role in promoting patient safety. The CPJE is a timed exam that lasts for three hours and requires a passing score of 75% or higher. It is offered throughout the year at Pearson VUE testing centers located in California and other states.
