Unvailed is a terrific book. The images are candid and revealing. The photographer has the ability to capture people during natural moments. Each moment freezes a lasting feeling in the form of a photograph. The writing nicely complements the pictures. This book is a perfect gift for anyone getting married or just interested in marriage. The pictures, taken together, make a revealing story about the institution of marriage and the ceremonies that surround it.

A wonderful book. So unlike all the other mushy or cynical books I've seen about marriage. Between the great shots and the little stories behind them, I can think of no better gift for a bride- (or groom-) to-be. The only problem is I'm tempted to pull some of the fabulous photos out and put them up.
Insightful, touching and truthful

Audrey Vernick captures a singular moment in time and distills its emotional truth by letting each participant communicate his/her own story. The beauty in Vernick's photojournalism is the wealth of information conveyed in the interplay between the image and the word. Each vignette is compact, yet offers multiple layers of observation and meaning; I hear the subject's voice in the text, but also see the subject's body language and the context of the moment in powerful photographs. I found myself reading the story of one half of a couple and searching out the story from the other half, comparing the differences (and similarities) in their perspectives and focus. This book is a pleasure to read and re-read.
