Useful for planning

I had occasion to use this book this past summer (2007) and I found it moderately helpful in the broadest stage of planning a canoe camping expedition. It wasn't so much use "in the water", where durable splashproof maps are what matter, but that's the norm for guidebooks. If you're thinking of venturing to Ontario for the first time, the choice is actually easy. Go to Georgian Bay; it's accessible and it's spectacular.
